No Tears For You Today

Monday (August 25, 2008)

Ok, Ok I'll start giving a "tear factor" at the top of each blog so you can have the tissues handy.

Today we started at 8:45 a.m. We may have been a few minutes late. We've forgotten what it's like to wrestle a baby's clothes on, feed, diaper and get everything you could possibly need for an infant. Our first stop was to see Dr. Boris. He works for the American Embassy. This is a standard exam required by the US. His office is in an older medical building. When we went in there were numerous people in the building, probably sick people, seeking appointments with docs. Some were small children. Dr. Boris's office was a private one with a small waiting room. Before we were called back another couple came in with a child. Of course we knew why the other was there. The couple turned out to be from Nashville (Gallatin). What a small world!

After the exam we had to go tot he police station, which was about an hour's drive outside the city. We had to take Alex there so the police could confirm the child matched the passport photo. There we me up with our friend Michelle and her new daughter Ana. The "confirmation" took about 2 seconds.

We came back to the apartment and all took 3 hour naps! We ate at a Ukranian Restaurant just outside the apartment building. Sorry Chuck, tried to get the menu, but it was about the size of the large print version of The Grapes of Wrath.
