We can't tell you how relieved we are today. Everything has run so smoothly in order to get Alex home. We went to Red Square this morning. Then to the "top of Moscow" (a hill close to the University of Moscow that overlooks the city). We had lunch at McDonald's. You should see the number of Russians eating there! The lines were out the door. I must say that they are very efficient in keeping things moving. An employee with a hand held PDA looking electronic device came to us in line and took our order. The device then printed out our number. Never seen this at any American McD's!
We had our interview at the American Embassy today. We got to bypass all the Russians in line for for US Visas. There were several other adoptive families there getting visas for their children, too. The interview consisted of walking up to a window, answering a few questions and signing some documents. We then had to wait about 30 minutes for the visa to be issued. During this time we caught up with another friend and compared stories of the other families adopting from outside the Moscow region.
Alex has had a huge day. He's sleeping now, but back to his old self (laughing , good humor). We may head out to Novy Arbat to eat at TGI Fridays. We soooooo miss home!

We are so happy that your trip is going smoothly! I'm sure it is hard being sooo ready to have Alex home and be done with all the emotional ups and downs!!
We're praying for you!

We are happy you have had all smooth transactions. Just a little longer and the whole family will be together in good ole Greene County, USA. We know you are ready to introduce Alex and John Robert and let the fun begin. We will continue to pray for you. Take good care.
Love,
Lori, Mike and Kevin
