Alex's Baby Dedication

With this being Thanksgiving week, we are so thankful for many things. Today was one of them as we celebrated Alex's baptism. He was never baptized in Russia (even if he was we would have done it here, too.) With friends and family and our extended church family looking on Alex was baptized. He went willingly to Dale, our pastor, without even pulling off his glasses. There was no crying, only the look of what in the world are ya'll doing to me now. No doubt God has a plan for us all. You may still be trying out figure out what you should do, but God always knows!

A note about the baptismal gown Alex wore: Brack and I started our family tradition by having John Robert's baptism outfit made out of my wedding dress train. (I figured if I ever had a girl and she was anything like me, she would want to purchase her own wedding gown.) When JRob was baptized he was 3 months old. My thoughts of continuing the tradition wained when we found out Alex was 10 months old and by the time he would be dedicated 15 months. One day I decided to try the gown on Alex. IT FIT! A dear friend of ours sent a baptismal suit for him in the 18 month size, so he wore both. After seeing Alex in the "dress" one little girl at church asked me if Alex was really a girl!

One other note of thankfulness...A dear friend called me today, just out of the blue. What a wonderful, wonderful day!!!
