And on his farm he had some ducks...

It's been a busy couple of weeks. I guess I can chalk that up to having two active boys. Three counting Brack! Alex took his first of many tractor rides. When I went to get him out, he had a fit to stay for more. He's also learning to throw tantrums (small, but effective), when he doesn't get his way.
On Good Friday the boys spent most of the day with our friend Carol. She invited us to stay and color eggs with her family. I've never seen such a production! There had to be a hundred eggs and at least 20 cups of dye. There was an egg spinner, paints, camouflage eggs, stickers and egg wraps. Yes, I learned how to correctly wrap an egg. I never knew you were suppose to put the egg back in the hot water to get the thing to shrink around the egg! John Robert had so much fun.
The children's department at church had its annual egg hunt. Alex encountered the kind and loving Easter Bunny, but with much anxiety and apprehension. Much like Santa, the photo opportunity was short lived. He had his eyes on that bunny, not sure of what was going to happen next. John Robert always loved the mascots and dressed up characters, not Alex, no, not at all! John Robert collected over 30 eggs during the hunt. With a little help from mom, Alex got about 20. Alex did well plucking the eggs from the tall grass and placing them in his basket. John Robert's first hunt resulted in 1 egg. When he discovered there was something in the egg, he had to stop to enjoy the candy.

The kids both performed in the Easter presentation at church on Sunday. Alex rang handbells and John Robert sang "Were You There" with the children' choir. I had Easter lunch at our home with family and friends. I had all the "low fat" favorites (haha), but for some reason I added about 5 pounds! The kids never even asked to hunt eggs. The weather was wonderful so we enjoyed sitting outside and watching the kids play on the inflatable slide. Alex's favorite candy is the foil covered chocolate eggs. John Robert likes any sugar flavored treats.
Uncle Chuck, Aunt Kathy and Jake brought the boys a pay-back gift, two ducks (Denise swears she wasn't a part of this). Let me explain...Before Brack and I had children, for Easter Brack & I gave Gabe & Jake bunnies. Looking back, we didn't do enough to spoil our darling nephews!

We had so much fun coloring eggs too. Let's do it again next year. So how are the new family ducky members doing? Kasey and I had ducks and named them Stinky and Punky...HaHaHa. I think Stinky is so appropriate...LOL. Love ya!
