I know I'm in the dog house for forgetting to tell everyone we were participating in National Adoption Day. SORRY! It snuck up on us and we really didn't think about it. We do appreciate your well wishes and support.
It was so special having our family be a part of this court hearing. To me the process in Russia was so mechanical. It was about getting the job done. Here, in the U.S., I was overwhelmed with emotion. We want to thank our attorney, Aunt Necee Neece a.k.a. Denise, for representing us. Thanks to all the court staff, too. We thank Bob Moore for covering the story and raising awareness for adoption.
John Robert did really well with his testimony, promising to be a good big brother. When the judge swore him in he raised his left hand (I quickly switched it for him). Before we left for court, he asked if it would be boring. When arrived he was thrilled to see some other children he knew and refreshments. Later I asked him if he thought he'd like to be a lawyer. He said "Dad, do you get to have refreshments all the time?"
John Robert had his first basketball game. He had two assists and one block! It's very amusing watching the little kids play.
What a day! We are so blessed to have all of you who follow our continuing journey. We are thankful for you and for what God has done through this little Russian-born child.
